Yo.
Well after sitting through a CD ULM, i benefitted lots from it, and I am really glad that I was given the chance to sit through it. After the meeting, I felt more knowledgeable on how CD has been doing as a unit, and the plans and actions that we’re gonna take as a unit. Although i didnt give much input, but I really really learnt alot. Hahaha.
‘I Belong To Jesus.’ What does this mean to you? Okay, lets not talk about the words, what does being a Christian mean to you? As a Christian, we’re Christ’s representative, what we do affects His reputation. As Christians, we have the responsibility to glorify God’s name with everything we have, which includes living a blameless life (to the best that you can), and with talents and studies.
But are we afraid of being identified as a Christian, afraid of being looked upon and often being judged by the world? The moment we converted, does it seem like people start looking towards your life in a different perspective? As Christians, the impact and the influence of what we do is amplified and multiplied ten, hundred, thousand folds. If we do something good, God’s name is glorified, when we make a mess out of things, it hurts Christ’s reputation.
True enough, although we are Christians, we are human at the same time, and its human to err. When we make a mistake, we can repent and God will forgive us, but this does not remove the consequence of our mistake. For example, if Driver A got involved in a car accident and knocked down Person B, A can repent and learn from his mistake, but it does not remove the consequence of having to face fines and jail.
On the issue of wearing a ‘I belong to Jesus’ shirt, once we wear that, even strangers will know that we’re Christians. When we do things, people do observe and they draw their conclusions. When we screw up, it would make it harder for people to evangalise to them in the future. Christ’s name is tarnished like that.
Hmm, not only a ‘I belong to Jesus’ shirt, even wearing Central shirt, or a cross, it shows people our identity as Christians, on one hand, we’re very passionate to proclaim that we’re Children of God, on the other hand, there are points that needs consideration, can we lead a life that would glorify God more than we tarnish it?
Probably the problem lies when people are ignorant of this fact that they are representing Christ with their lives. Its a heavy responsibility that all Christians have to bear, and surely we’ll lead our lives differently once we know that people are looking, for a mess up could mean souls not saved or saved at a later time.
